1st Annual
Student Art Show
The Birmingham
Feline Fanciers first feline art
show was held in conjunction with the cat show in January 2008. High school students to entered paintings of cats (see
Letter to Art
Teachers). Our theme for the 2008 show was “Show
Time”.
All feline art entries were
judged and the winners received ribbons and prizes. Three experts in the
field of art judged our feline art entries including
Darious
Hill - Alabama School of Fine Arts, , Jan Stephens-Visual Arts Supervisor,
Jefferson County Board of Education and Kristen Greenwood - Birmingham Museum.
As for the prizes, we had
donations from The Summit, Alabama Art Supply, Forstall Art Supplies,
Home Field Sports Grill, Richard Russell Gallery and
anonymous donations.
We are very excited about
our feline art show and are hoping to encourage more people to fall in love
with cats by broadening our audience.
